Site Actions


Ongoing management of sites can be as much of a headache for administrators as the initial creation of sites. Most implementations advise that you should let power users manage sites in SharePoint. However if you give them the permissions that can let them create any form of List, add new Users or even delete the site.

This is a lot of responsibility and can so easily go wrong. However the alternative is a slow change process where expensive IT resource opens their time making small updates to SharePoint sites.


These challenges are precisely why we added the Site Actions capability to ProvisionPoint. For each type of site an administrator can define the actions that designated users can perform. This can include changing the security, adding new Lists, activating a feature or even deleting a site.

We have taken this feature one step further by also allowing an approval step to be added to specific Site Actions.
